Sound h1838. Whistles of White-bellied Nothura, after a rain.
Habitat was grassland with scattered bushes and
small trees in Caatinga farmland. Another bird was responding with similar whistles from a distance.
Sound was filtered (bandpass 2,000-10,000 Hz, sox V14.3.2., sinc filter).

Sound h1036. Alarm calls of two White-bellied Nothuras, while the birds
fly away. They were inadvertently flushed by the recordist.

Sound h1037. Alarm calls of White-bellied Nothura, after being flushed. In the beginning, wing-beats can
be heard, as the bird takes off. The sonogram shows the initial 2 secs of the recording.
Also: Southern Lapwing Vanellus chilensis (labels Vc on sonogram),
Blue-black Grassquit Volatinia jacarina.
Initially in the recording, probably some mic handling noise together with the wing-flaps.
The sound was not filtered.
